So basically I'm out of work because our company is outsourcing to AI. AI is unrelated to what we do, but our boss is easily swayed by hype, so he paid everything to somebody to completely rebrand us as a company that focuses on providing AI services; THEIR expensive, third-party AI services instead of what our internal staff provides. Suddenly our company has a new website, new logo, new brand, all focused on providing AI services, all created by the company who gets paid by us for AI services.
We have been expanding our business because I was hard-nosed about our shoddy standards of quality, and all the new brands we represent now had literally LAUGHED in our face 5 years ago when I started at this company. They don't laugh anymore, because we now provide a high-quality product. AI has nothing to do with our success; the veteran professionals with over 20 years of creative experience does.
They are now throwing me out with the trash, in order to make way for "the next big thing". -_-
That sucks. I’m so sorry. Of course eventually the bad decisions will have consequences, but in the meantime the boss who made them get richer and probably be long gone, and you’ll get a plateful of headaches you didn’t deserve. Just a plate of garbage.
Now I know how people see AI, and it is not a selling point. By telling them you use AI, you're basically saying that you will provide cookie-cutter, machine-generated content that lacks individuality and will be full of complaint-generating errors and frustrations.
When my boss started getting into this AI hype, I let it go because although I know the truth, I also know that our b2b demographic are cut from the same cloth as him and are also swayed by hype.
@inthehands Problem is, consequences for the ownership class are minor. They will not accept their bad decisions, and will instead double-down on it until there is nothing left and they declare bankruptcy and do it all over again.
