@feld @breadandcircuses Right, for example traffic regardless of the means of transport needs a *lot* of infrastructure, for an extreme example you can't just choose to bicycle on a stroad (or well you won't do that for long), taking public transit also means actually having it.

@G @feld @breadandcircuses For this particular one, I'd want how the question was asked and what was the context (like if the sample was in a car-dependent city/state).
Because the "no car" people-estimation honestly just reeks of bullshit, like a question that was specifically about *owning* a car rather than simply not *using* any.
