     Hi Rodti: have you considered moving the current mode for mas.to to silencing/limiting threads instead of blocking? Would seem to still defend against your concerns as you see how Threads interop goes - and yet not be as much a severance as a full block.

     @BlackAzizAnansi See the post from the @trumpet account last night, we’re blocking Threads as
     a precautionary measure (we did this months ago) while we make sure that a) their volume doesn’t start knocking servers offline and b) they can adequately moderate their user base. If those concerns are unfounded then we’ll take steps to remove the block ☺️

     @tchambers @BlackAzizAnansi @trumpet The idea is to lower the restriction once we work out the safest way to do so that protects users who choose to block. Authorised Fetch might be part of that solution.

     @trumpet @rodti @BlackAzizAnansi Here (on Indieweb.social) not seen problems yet with either issue, we are about 11k+ users registered and about 1.2k monthly active users….

     @tchambers @rodti @BlackAzizAnansi There are just two concerns, 1) I'd like to see how the performance is at scale and 2) Authorised Fetch breaks federation with some non-Mastodon software, I'd like to have a clearer view of who we might lose if we enable it.
