   @allrite to an industrial capitalist having a population trained to some interchangeable minimal standard was valuable. To the theocratic, to the racist, and to the eliminationist, an educated population is seen as a potential danger, while to the post-industrial capitalist education is seen simply as another place to extract profit.

     On one hand I'm happy we didn't have any politicians or special guests at the school presentation last night. On the other, if some politicians suffered from the heat in the non-airconditioned school hall they might be more amenable to increasing public school funding.
