@adachi @tyler @dcc @charlie_root @opphunter88 I don't care what Luther has to say (in his 95 theses he also claimed the pope has power over purgatory, I don't believe popes nor purgatory even exist). Whether it is taught in Scripture determines truth, not a magistrate be it Catholic or Protestant.
You can claim to be saved and changed before men, and goats these days would readily believe any profession, but:
A) God knows if you're genuine or not.
B) John the Baptist, Christ and Paul all preached a repentance that bears fruit and is visible to men, which can be judged accordingly.

@latein @adachi @tyler @dcc @charlie_root Luther wasn’t consistent throughout his life, his opinions on these things changed as he translated the Bible from scratch, though even at the best of times, everyone agrees that he held to many of the Papist innovations he came up with.
It was the generations after him, particularly Martin Chemnitz and John Calvin, that fleshed out a lot of his ideas.

Why are some prots so autistic about this LOL
Martin Luther's 95 Theses are in support of faith AND works. His main problem with the church is that they were TOO lenient with forgiveness (like allowing you to redeem sins by giving land/money to the church.)
How can you be a prot and disagree with your biggest figure head?
Faith alone is retarded. Can I be an evil person but just say 'Oh sheesh buddy sorry i raped you and put your body in a ditch but maaaan im really sorry bro anyway i believe in god so im going to heaven lolll'
On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?' Then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers'" (Matthew 7:21-23).
