my feelings about the #threads integration are … mostly good!
some instances won’t federate with Meta, and that’s great. some instances will federate, and that’s also great. a way more interesting set of choices than existed a few years ago.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you compare the two platforms? What do you like and dislike about both?
@donmccurdy Agreed. I’m surprised by hostility toward #Threads here. I have it and Mastodon and like both. Am not seeing the problem.
Thanks for the follow-up. That is about what I expected. I think many public figures who didn't jump here jumped to Threads or Bluesky. Funny because I think the official goal for Threads is to have less news and politics.
Maybe we will get the best of both worlds here if federation between Mastodon and Threads happens?
@seanbala @donmccurdy I like the substance and play of Mastodon—from Caturday to a lot of info on climate crisis. But for an upcoming election year, Threads features a lot of the public figures and experts not here. I’m learning a lot there.
