   Has #Discord made things *worse* on its android app?

   It was already pretty broken in an update that dropped in the last week or so.

   Today, discord freaked the fuck out and almost made it so I couldn't even turn my phone off.

   I got there eventually, and then I uninstalled discord from my phone.

   But, ugh, it's only a few months ago that I switched from telegram to discord as my preferred chat option. It seemed relatively widespread and not as evil as the meta options .

   Now, who the fuck knows

     @lookitmychicken As far as I can tell it really depends on what version of the phone OS you're running, my flatmate has no real problem but oh boy it's apocalyptic for me. It was already freezing all the time before but now it's even worse.

     I'll stay on discord for now because I've been there for years so that's where my friends and communities are, but I've heard Matrix is growing (and it has lots of apps to choose from).

     Thank you! I've used matrix before, so that part isn't the issue. It's mostly that chat is only useful if the people I want to chat with are using it.

     Essentially the same problem as with social media, I guess. But even more tightly coupled with existing social groups. ☹️

     @lookitmychicken Oh yeah I feel you, that's very much why I'm stuck with discord for now and matrix is useless to me =/

     I hope you can find a compromise that works for you!
