There are many versions of this image out there. The good ones illustrate why “better cars” will never be more than part of the answer, and actually help “lock in” the #CarDependency that’s the real problem. They also show why status-quo interests want to focus on the vehicles.

@BrentToderian in the third image, there is still potential for stores getting deliveries from larger vehicles. The streets appear large enough. There are plenty of ways to prioritise bikes & transit without banning private delivery vehicles. -

Transportation serves purposes. The third image contains the message "movement of goods and services don't matter" and "the large-scale economic integration of an urban area doesn't matter."
I don't believe the car-centric approach is the only way forward, but this romanticism doesn't offer a serious alternative, we need to imagine better futures than any of those images.
