Have you ever checked idle TDP? Tempted to fetch me the same board if I can find a good price on eBay but if it eats far more power than my current system I doubt I'll use it that much.
@jihadjimmy Idle power for dual 6282 SE's and the mobo is ~60W according to lm-sensors.
Full load power is 280W+~20W for the mobo ;3, but that's somehow better than intel's recent housefires and consider that's 4 CPUs (2x dual 8 core die CPUs).
Idle power would probably be lower if Turbo 2 and power saving were actually properly configured, but it's noted that on tickless systems (nohz=on), the extra cores can enter CC6; https://www.coreboot.org/Board:asus/kgpe-d16
In my testing with a 6278 and 6282 SE running in the same motherboard (mixing and matching CPUs like that isn't meant to work, but it did) it seems the 6278 is the 6282 SE on a slightly newer node, but slightly less aggressively clocked, meaning it's a bit slower.
S3 ACPI is currently broken, but based GNUboot developers are working on fixing RAMinit, which will allow for resuming from suspend to work.
