     @ned @Dan_Ramos Yeah. Jodi Whitaker seemed to be dewoking Doctor Who. It seemed very tame politically compared to Peter Capaldi. The only thing that seemed particularly woke to me was a female doctor, but they're aliens. I can cut them some slack for swapping sexes if frogs can do it on Earth.

     But the Earth being saved by time lord powers in a human male who believes he is not male but only because he believes he is not male? Yeah, that's farfetched and sexist enough to make me cancel Disney.

     @Meachamus_Prime @Dan_Ramos I didn't mind Jodi herself. Or the idea of a female doctor. Except for the meta narrative around "we have to have a female doctor, because it's time". Fuck that.

     What ruined it for me was the companions. They made it not fun. And then there was the special that retconned the whole backstory of the doctor and turned the first doctor into a fat black woman. Even though that cannon was already well established. That was truly insulting. Fuck them.
