     @lednabwm I post alt texts from my phone without problems. Which browser or app are you using? It should work in all browser and most apps.

     @lednabwm The standard Mastodon app is the one with the lowest features. Try something else. E.g. on an iPhone there is Ice Cubes. It now supports AI generation of alt texts.

     In the browser at least the automatic recognition of text in the image works.

     I use the Mastodon app, but look.... I greatly appreciate that you folks want to help spread some of the memes I share with the larger community. I've thanked you on multiple occasions. t's just not a big priority to me to go through the extra effort of textualizing the memes. If that's a problem for some, that's ok; I welcome them to unfollow me as they see fit.

     @lednabwm Clicking “generate description” surely is not much effort? There are really a lot of blind people on Mastodon, at least 5 of my followers are blind.

     Or do you mean installing another app? It has other nice features.

     Thanks for the helpful information. It's as I suspected, requiring extra efforts beyond which I tend not to take the time. Maybe one day, though...
