   I’m still failing at the game of Mastodon.

   One of the things I greatly appreciated about Twitter was the ability to see who someone is following. It was one of the best ways to find interesting people.

   The second image here is the “computer says no” reveal behind the first. In this case, I kinda understand the Fediverse reasons. But because of my conditioning, it feels kind of stupidly counter-productive

     …As for ‘Followers’ counts, its proxy for the ‘value’ of a person is so vastly overrated it borders on the toxic

     @urlyman Your local server has only a partial copy of any remote account. If you use "Open Original Page" on a profile, you'll see the full thing, and clicking on the Follower or Following numbers will show the true list (so long as the person hasn't opted to hide them). Very similar to viewing a thread on the "home" instance to see all replies.

     I agree about follower counts. Some clients like Tusky let you turn them off, as well as favourite and boost counts.
