     @thomasfuchs I'm willing to bet money that vast majority of people who buy that truck will never use even a fraction of the towing capacity

     @thomasfuchs sure a minivan would be another good comparison, key point is that these megatrucks are a fairly recent phenomenon, and clearly people got on just fine without them for decades. My impression is that it's basically the modern version of buying a Hummer.

     @thomasfuchs @yogthos something else to mention about that modern truck is the absurd ride height. If I am hit, as a pedestrian, by your average minivan or even that old boat of a car - I am going to fare better than the solid wall impact of a modern Pavement Princess truck.
