@pkw I feel you. I think many people are busy and stressed and don’t have the space to imagine alternatives to what our own public health officials are providing. Maybe it’s up to those of us who believe in those alternatives to form community and invite folks to join back in

It's like life gets hard then that's the excuse to give up on being a moral person. In my mind that's the only real test of being a moral person. (to not give up when it gets hard)

The pandemic era absolutely shredded my mental health. Not because covid itself is scary - but because so many friends and comrades gave up on the values I thought we deeply shared. Losing shared core values in the midst of a deadly disease is what 1000% wrecked me.
I want to vocally reclaim those values: public health is good actually, and is deeply connected to human and worker’s rights. I want to rebuild my mental (&spiritual) health by practicing these values with like minded friends

I am not giving up on preventing covid. I believe in community care & public health and I am never giving up on those values. I don’t care if my life ends up a moral minority report on this society, at least I’ll be in good company!
Caring for vulnerable humans, aspiring toward economic & social equality, believing in the public good and the beauty of the commons — these are things no one can take from me

We could have contained covid and put it on a path for global elimination (many countries in fact did so) and we still could. But we don’t because
