   I'm going to go visit #Meta in San Francisco tomorrow for their "Threads Interoperating in the Fediverse Data Dialogue". Not exactly sure what to expect, or who else is participating, but I figure I can listen and learn and make up my mind afterwards.

   They say it's Chatham House rules, meaning I can post this and whatever else interesting transpires. No NDA involved.

   Regardless where you stand on the meta-and-the-fediverse question, I think having more info is better.

     @J12t Thanks. It would be very nice if you can mention that we (the Mastodon project) are very interested in discussing interop with them. I e-mailed Benjamin Savage, the person representing Meta at the W3c meetings, but never got an answer :(

     @renchap Idk why they reached out to me, and whether they reached out to 2 or 2000 people. I would guess it's either because of my role with FediForum or the Fediverse Test Suite project that I just got funded.

     @renchap @andypiper you are both in Europe, right? So no chance to be there tomorrow in SF I assume, otherwise I could ask them to invite you. (No idea whether they would, and I don’t actually have a relationship yet with any of the organizers, but I could ask.)

     Do I take it that you/mastodon has NOT been working closely with threads over the past months? If so, that would boggle my mind.

     @renchap @evan @supergrobi @J12t I also mentioned (on Threads) that I’d love to talk with them - in response to a post they made about their potential API - saw lots of engagement on the post, but no follow-up despite providing my direct contact details.
