   @andypiper So, I _totally_ understand if this is out of scope for you, but I really feel like it would be a good idea for a lot of smaller Free/open source/culture projects to join forces to create a common instance that could serve as the official instance for them together. The coolest thing is of course for a project to have their own instance at their own domain, but that's too much work for most small/medium project, I'm sure. A collaborative instance could be the solution – though not easy

     I have two Open Source software projects (well, one software project, and one open standards org) looking to move from <another place> to Mastodon - I note that fosstodon is invite-only right now. Where would be nice homes for these?

     (would be release announcement-centric sorta things, not asking anyone to follow them unless they want to)
