   I confess that I was Today Years Old when I discovered that "Detonation Boulevard" by The Sisters Of Mercy is a joke on the album "Desolation Boulevard" by Sweet, which featured their famous tracks "Ballroom Blitz" and "Fox On The Run".

   Even crazier, Wayne Hussey released his own remix of "Ballroom Blitz" under his "Mission UK" moniker.

   Clearly, the #SistersOfMercy really loved Sweet. #goth #music

     @hedders There are, of course, plenty of Leonard Cohen references sprinkled around...for example, "Some Girls Wander By Mistake" is a line from Cohen's song "Teachers" (and "Some Boys Wander..." is a joke on that), which you kinda expect if you name yourself after a Leonard Cohen song.

     But I guess the Sweet thing kinda checks out. Sweet were TOTP darlings, and those second-wave goths loved to riff on glam.
