This next mix will be called Rootflections, and will be my "debut" work. The next step is livestreaming to peertube me mixxxing it up (video stream too, you'll see yours truly but I'll probably don a balaclava) the purpose of this is to get me more prepared for performances in front of live audiences. I have a mic too ready so I can interact with the chat. If peertube can't handle this then maybe I can use twitch or something.

Also I'm communicating to you using a dedicated X11 session on my Pinephone alongside my wayland Phosh session that is hooked up to an external portable LCD monitor, mouse and keyboard via the dock. I can switch between the two use tty, ctrl + alt + 1 to phosh, tty2 to xorg and my external monitor. I can type mms and sms with my wireless keyboard then jump over to my LCD screen for fun and entertainment on a little on Pinephone 1.2 arm64 board.

Don't get me wrong, it's buggy and jenky as fuck and required a autist nerd like me to operate, but just imagine a Linux phone that is basically the core of the PC, you connect it, it runs the laptop like setup, and when you remove it, same computer but on the go, and can make calls and texts, all FOSS.

The hardware is already there. UConsole is the one closest to it but it still needs a mic and speaker.
It's the software that is very lacking, especially the integration of the GSM module.
There is also a waveshare raspi hat with GSM.
Linux "phone" = raspi + waveshare GSM hat + touch screen + mic/speakers + battery.
Bonus for a RISC version with even better battery life.

Audio quality is very bad though, and there's really no intention to make it better.
The clockworkPi device is much more open and easier to hack.

@Re_L @3T @Decayable @Doll @Formerly_Trucks @Sui @charlie_root @p I mean the guy working the modem does care, you do know that pine64 does nothing at all for software. (don't ask why)

And the fact that no one cares to fix it, shows you that they're not serious about it.

Wouldn't everything be for the better if we used well known and supported hardware like the pi.

I think it's fine. The 4G module, a little, sure. It's shipped to more people so I figure it'll improve soon.

Audio works fine on the OG Pinephone. The hardware is fine, just the software is half baked and lack more devs because all the Linux faggot gaymers boo-hoo'd and cried about mobile Linux, went online and talked about like reddit tier CONSSOOOOMERS, and won't let go of their Androids. So there is a lack of interest now and the software will improve at a glaciers pace.

@charlie_root @3T @dcc @Decayable @Doll @Formerly_Trucks @Sui @p @Re_L Is the PinePhone's call quality decent? A simple phone call shouldn't sound poor nor have bad call reception on a Linux phone. It would be unfortunate if a basic, clear, and consistent phone call is only proprietary.
