@Zerglingman @Kyonko802 KS is build on renpy, which is open source. Assets are CC BY-NC-ND, but I think to qualify as FOSS, only the game engine has to be open anyway.

@Kyonko802 ....
Is KS actually FOSS though?
Even assuming "free" as in "no charge" rather than "four freedoms", I think it's not even open-source.
Also, 0ad.

@mint @Zerglingman last I checked the devs really don't give a shit what anyone does with KS. They used to have a ban on modding but they changed their minds. It's just that no one has taken that offer

@DarkMahesvara @Zerglingman @Kyonko802 Well, engine and scripts that make the game playable. Then the assets might be replaced with ones that are distributed with a free license, like what I think someone already did with OpenTTD.

engine alone does not give you the full game. there are quite a bit more open source engines but closed source game assets like stalker anomaly's open-xray engine and all the indie gadot games

@mint @Zerglingman @Kyonko802 its MIT license so the devs can do what they want. they _might_ make it F/OSS or not. open source engine alone does not mean open source game
