@freemo @DavidM_yeg we had the vaccine passport thing here too (BC). But it was not comparable to actual lockdown enforced by the policy as in Athens. Here it was barely adhered to, businesses didn't want the resposibility of policing this, or having to deal with angry anti-vaxxers. I wouldn't call vaccine passports much of a lockdown. An inconvenience for some.

🎓 Doc Freemo :jpf: 🇳🇱 (freemo@qoto.org)'s status on Friday, 01-Dec-2023 05:49:19 JST 🎓 Doc Freemo :jpf: 🇳🇱 Yes agreed, it was less strict than how you describe it in athens for sure.
Oddly that goes to prove my point though, there were lockdowns of varying degrees across the globe, maybe were extremely strict, others not quite that bad. But little down lockdowns were in effect globally in one sense of the word or another (restriction of movement, events, and jobs.. basically gatherings).
I am not claiming they were a bad idea mind you(David seems to have some really twisted assumptions in his head about people and what they are arguing)... only that those lockdowns will cause temporary releif that ultimately will go away once lifted and goes well beyond simply masks or hygienic and other more casual sorts of measures.
