then i remembered the guy that wrote and sang that "by God we'll have a home again"

and went, ya. this goes on everywhere.

  It's weird that despite that, there are still some people on here who are fans of them. That said, it used to be if you expressed any kind of dissatisfaction with them your notifications would be blown up for the next several hours by a bunch of dudes with :njp: in their names calling you a jew loving faggot and that kind of energy just isn't on here anymore. Or anywhere else, really. They can only maintain that sort of fanbase on a place where they have total control.

Saying only pedophiles come here is a way to keep the faithful subs from ever dipping their toes into non-friendly, contested ideological territory. NVM the fact that we agree on so much - they require fealty to them specifically, and it's in somewhat short supply here. Too many people w/ a critical eye and a real job for their liking.
  They, in classic e-celeb/streamer fashion, have learned that you should never force yourself to maintain a presence on any platform you don't have full moderation control on, particularly when it's less than 90% friendly.
  (that ratio is debatable but it's helpful to have retards to gang up on and beat up, fosters group inclusion while keeping everyone in line)
  Just the way it is, I don't blame 'em. Their whole thing just has....bad foundations. The transition from newmedia celebrity collective to political party is just not great, the former is terrible training for the latter, you can't run a party like a fan club.

  It was a gradual process for me. I think the big solidifying moment for myself was the conte stuff, specifically how things happened on fedi. I specifically remember McKevvit was still around and running damage control and there was a diehard supporter (boomerman) who was asking him what the shot was and how the fuck he was supposed to respond to detractors, and mckevvit pretty much told him to fuck off and that he didn't need to know. I'd skeptical for a couple months by that point but seeing a guy who was fighting tooth and nail to carry water for these guys get told he doesn't deserve an explanation for jack shit was really elucidating.
