@kaia i used to use kdeconnect, was really comfy. just mounting the phone with sshfs kaia likes this. -

@kaia I don't use debian instead of Arch, but I found this problem so god damn annoying that I finally installed an ftp server on my phone that I'll spinn up when I want to transfer files. Jsmtp or whatever it's called almost drove me insane :(

@symmetrizer same. friend set up Syncthing for me and it works, but it's quite slow. -

@kaia@brotka.st what (if any) desktop environment do you use? KDE makes it pretty seamless, and even when that does't work bluetooth transfer works decently if you don't need fast speeds

@squidink7 I'm using i3 because Wayland does not work with the new GPU :sadcat: but I now did it with Syncthing again, which worked! -

what I could not do was share the entire Download folder, so I had to move all media to a shared subfolder. but at least it's off the device. I'm still going through the files, trying out open_clip to categorize images. but it's no priority at all.
