@marine @anemone decent proxy for measuring impulsivity and risk aversion alongside self discipline or lack thereof, I have a roommate who blows thousands of dollars on war thunder and he's an engineer by trade, nearly every "haha funny let's just do this because we can" antic in the apartment can be laid at his feet and I have zero doubt he's like this on the job as well -

@allison @marine @anemone Actually, engineering employers tend to value the "time is money" approach. The impulse to overspend salaried hours doing NIH or thrifty tricks vs just buying something off the shelf is something they beat out of juniors.
