   @DaSkinny1 @ParanoidFactoid Ahem. Mr. Laffy wrote for Love Boat for years (yeah, he knew it was cheesy too). That show bought us a house and 2 cars. I still get residuals from a tiny part I had on it. Yes, that's me in the sailor suit. Oy. Don't blink, you'll miss me! (with Jane Powell)

     Caught an episode of Rockford files the other night that had a young Tom Selleck in it. The cheese level was off the charts. Classic. 🤓

     @DaSkinny1 @GottaLaff I like the cynicism of the show. He's a downtrodden loser anti-hero who just wants to do right, surrounded by two-bit lowlifes and hustlers. This is in contrast with cheese shows of the era like Love Boat and Charlie's Angel's. Lol

     @GottaLaff I know this isn't Dick van Dyke related, but the old Mary Tyler Moore show is still funny fifty years on. She and Dyke had a prior show together in the early 60s. But I wonder, why is that show still funny and not dated? I find MASH to be dated. The same for most other 70s shows. Pretty much only Mary Tyler Moore and Rockford Files still do it fir me from that era.

     Why is MTM still funny? It's a genuine conundrum for me.

     6 composite photos of Dick Van Dyke (& me, my class) in black box theater of public perform. arts high school where I taught/directed Comedy class/shows. Dick wanted to see us in action, loved it, asked me to write/direct his annual theater prod. to "make it funnier."

     I couldn't believe *Dick Van Dyke* asked ME to make HIM funnier. Did it for 2 yrs, finally had to quit due to time conflicts.

     He visited us, played w/ us, had a ball! I'm the redhead in blue jeans. Here we go!
