Bridges in other social media have always been an integral part of Fediverse. The #Friendica release 2023.09-rc has integrated a bridge to Bluesky for this purpose. This does not rely on a third-party provider. The integration takes place via the add-on system. The admin of the instance can activate or deactivate this.

Once the user has activated the add-on for their account, the connection is established via an existing Bluesky account. The bidirectional interface allows communication with contacts that you follow on Bluesky.
