   @markmason @MarkHoltom The best service is a universal service. In the same way, as Finland does not allow private education, so has the best education in the world, Canada does not allow private healthcare.

   When everybody has to use it, politicians vote to spend money on it, because they can’t escape. That is the future.

     @MarkHoltom The care we receive is the same no matter how much tax we are paying *at that time*. People seem to forget that you can lose private health insurance even if you have been paying for years. Also Tory policy is founded on the idea that ‘rich’ and ‘poor’ are fixed attributes of a person and not a state you can move in or out of over a lifetime.
