The Earth just reached an ominous milestone: On Friday, global temperatures briefly averaged more than 2 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial benchmark for the first time. Our climate is moving into uncharted territory.
(Note that the long-term average, which is what climate policies are based off, is still below 1.5 degrees Celsius... but it won’t stay this way for long)

@lauxmyth @luckytran I was going to write the same message. It 'has moved, I.e., shifted". There is no turning back and don't believe in the gimmicks of carbon capture. Humans need to enjoy the ride down into the abyss that they created.

@lauxmyth @luckytran A chart based on the year 1850. We already know there were vineyards in medieval Scotland and that under the Arctic ice there is frozen grass and evidence of a temperate Arctic climate. These facts are not shown in the limited 1850 figures.
