Hi @alex@gleasonator.com, I am not sure it's a feature or a bug. Just feel weird.
For example
A from an Misskey instance
B from another Misskey instance
C from an Soapbox instance
C is following A
A is following B, but C is not
A made reaction to B's post
On C's instance, even if no one is following B this post will show up on the fediverse timeline.
Everyone on the instance can tell who reacted to this post. Is this some kind of public execution?😅
It's weird because other platform like Mastodon or Misskey don't exhibit the same behavior.

Alex Gleason (alex@gleasonator.com)'s status on Saturday, 18-Nov-2023 15:20:33 JST Alex Gleason @ryanhe 👋 Hello!
Here's my guess: C is following A. A published an EmojiReact. A's server federates the EmojiReact to all of A's followers, including C.
The EmojiReact contains a reference to B. So when C sees that reference, it fetches data for B. Now C's server has the post from B. -

This seems like pleroma rather than rebased default behavior? -
