   @peterdutoit People are already dying of the heat all over the place and it's already a problem. It's really time for us climate-conscious folk to begin talking as if the damage is already done.

     I am thinking of the people of Brazil.

     If this is what happens during an El Niño when the global average temperature is +1.43°C, what happens during an El Niño that takes place with background warming of 1.5°, 1.7° or 2°C?

     People are going to lose their lives.
