Andrasta 💚💜🌼🌎🇦🇽 (judeet88@universeodon.com)'s status on Friday, 17-Nov-2023 04:51:18 JST Andrasta 💚💜🌼🌎🇦🇽 Quietly and unmourned, ignored and already forgotten, there are little things that have dropped out of our lives and yet which for many of us were a central part of our youth spent partying and/or inviting people round to dinner. #Corks in wine bottles. The very last one I removed with my cork fairy is still there, and a very large black bag of corks is still in my shed awaiting a 'project'. I just couldn't ever quite bring myself to throw away real corks...with the Château's name imprinted on them and the type of wine, still with the scent of that wine on them and the colour of it staining the lower end. I have used some to light barbecue fires when camping or my stove when I've run out of firelighters, but mostly they're just sat there quietly in the shed. I wonder what's happened to all the cork oaks and the cork gatherers and makers?
