:blobcathug: (jain@blob.cat)'s status on Thursday, 16-Nov-2023 04:26:49 JST :blobcathug: ARM CPUs and x86 CPUs will replace each other in terms of their efficiency.
ARM is easier to built, therefore they will get faster to smaller TSMC Nodes than x86, having a lead until x68 gets a CPU done with their next Node, outperforming ARM again...
People who either claim ARM to be superior or x86 superior because of their performance/efficiency have no idea what they are talking about.- Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: likes this.

ARM boards are way too oriented towards trash-ready smart-devices. -

:blobcathug: (jain@blob.cat)'s status on Thursday, 16-Nov-2023 04:41:05 JST :blobcathug: @lanodan tbh, im not sure... Apple give me the feeling that its easier to extend the Architecture with hardware accelerators in some way... Having advantages on that can be quite nice.
Maybe im wrong on that tho...
And if someone wants raw generic Performance, which is usually the need, then i would choose x86 -

Among other things thats the reason for the Steam Deck Hype... Im always super interested in what will be doable in the next Gen of anything :ablobcatbongo:
I bet the next Steam Deck with a new AMD APU can be nearly compared to a PS5 in terms of performance -

But it doesn't matter much if your ecosystem isn't as advanced as in x86 Windows or desktop Linux :_s7h2clgd_:
