It is possible to have a single note of triplet quaver length without any other notes.

Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Wednesday, 15-Nov-2023 12:13:55 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @greyknight33 @PakkonenCT Here is math marked up to explain how it all adds up. The dotted 8th followed by a 16th (beats 2 & 4 of the bass clef) gives a kind of gallop feel. long short long short, etc. The treble melody is crazy like that because it's offset by a single 16th note. This is called syncopation. the treble notes fall inbetween the bass notes.

Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Wednesday, 15-Nov-2023 13:22:39 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @PakkonenCT That one has triplet 16ths to a 8ths rest. it adds up neater to a whole beat per motif. Sounds like 4 fast notes. Bleed doesn't have the triplet so it sounds like 3 fast notes + another instead of the rest. And adds up to an awkward 3/4 of a beat.

yeah, i just threw in a measure from a wild sheet i have. i got more too :)
so the two 1/16 with the smiles (circled in the treble clef) are actually a 1/8 and should play like that? also, what are the greater than symbols mean (">") under only a couple of the chords?

thanks for this tho, great to hear the faster notes in concert with longer ones and their effect.

Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 (ned@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Nov-2023 09:34:48 JST Sir Nedwood - Sydney 🇦🇺 @greyknight33 @PakkonenCT yes the smiles mean the notes are connected like they are actually 1 note. The reason you have to connect them is because the note goes over the beat. The > symbol means an accent. Basically you hit that note a little harder.
