@Godcast @apropos @BigTLarrity I think you're overcomplicating it guys. They didn't want to do the "skin tight suit" because that "sexist" so they did a "comfortable" suit.
There isn't anything more complicated.

@BigTLarrity allow me to explain: these costumes suck because they're deliberately easy to imitate. Hollywood wants cosplayers and is making it easy for them.
This is really an expression of contempt. The people that make this slop, they know it's slop, and they're disgusted by the people that eat it up, and they don't think those people can put in the kind of work that weebs put into cosplay of actually good designs.
They have a deflection: these are superhero designs and older superhero designs were made under the constraints of being easy to conceal and secretly change into (superman changing in a phone booth), and of being based on a simple wrestling disguise (spideman going with a gimmick to try and monetize his radioactive injury).
