     SSTV?
     I got a licence in about 1993, was a swl before that & SSTV was definitely not a secret then.

     It was the receiver I had never been aware of. Like you I was a SWL first and listened to SSTV on the band's.

     I was just thinking about it and I vaguely remember an amateur telling me about long latency CRTs being used in SSTV. I never actually came across one
