@anggiar @eniko
Deaths are still high, cases depend on whether anyone bothers to test 😢

that data is getting lost too though as governments start including 2020 and 2021 and beyond in their excess deaths calculations so give it a few more years and they'll just read as "baseline" or even "improving slightly" even though things are still about as bad as they were in 2020

Like cmon the covid vaccines haven't worked properly for preventing infection since omicron. Arguably since delta. And the "updated shots" haven't helped since covid is mutating and spawning variants far too rapidly in the fuck around and find out era of the pandemic. That means vaccines haven't been useful for preventing infections for 2 years or more. How are people this outdated on their covid science?

Subtoot: Hate to break it but proof of vaccination would not make return-to-office even remotely covid safe. Vaccines haven't been reliable for preventing covid infections for a very long time now and even when they do their efficacy plummets after a month or two. To make offices safe you would need both masking (N95 or better) and enough air filtration to get multiple air changes per hour. Those are the facts. That is what the science says

I don't post about covid as much as I used to because I gave up trying to change peoples' minds but don't think for a picosecond that you're going to gaslight me into agreeing with your unscientific vax-and-relax bullshit
Wear a fucking mask

Eniko | Kitsune Tails out now! (eniko@peoplemaking.games)'s status on Sunday, 12-Nov-2023 21:23:41 JST Eniko | Kitsune Tails out now! "Well the vaccine is still effective against hospitalization and death"
Uh-huh. But it's not effective against infection, which means it's not *community* safety, it's *individual* safety. And it's not even reliable for preventing long term disability, so it's not even particularly good for guaranteeing individual safety!
I would love for there to be an effective vaccine but we currently *do not have one*

Eniko | Kitsune Tails out now! (eniko@peoplemaking.games)'s status on Sunday, 12-Nov-2023 21:23:42 JST Eniko | Kitsune Tails out now! I guess it makes sense that so many people are stuck at a spring 2021 level of understanding of covid. Everything after that was bad news that doesn't support vax-and-relax and if properly internalized would see nobody sane going around barefaced
