   I am having a couch & bed centered weekend, thanks to ear infection.

   Am embarrassed to admit that *both* my ears are infected, probably because of my terrible habit of cleaning out my ears with an ear spoon.

   (It feels so satisfying, I hate the idea of quitting.)

   Anyway right now I can barely hear anything except my pulse inside of my head.

   It was kinda painful overnight, but it doesn't hurt right now. Just uncomfortable and weird. And I have no energy.

     Normally in situations like this, I can at least listen to music or podcasts, or watch trashy TV.

     But I can't hear anything, and I don't feel up to watching shows with subtitles.

     So it is a weirdly silent weekend.

     It does help me realize how much I take my hearing for granted, and how much I'd miss it if it was permanently damaged

     @lookitmychicken yea, i took a music exam once with an ear infection and nearly failed it. i learnt that it really does do something to the hearing and sound/music perception. never again!

     i'm sorry it's affecting your enjoyment of your usual comforts! i hope you get to hug something cuddly or soothe in other ways :blobGoodNight:

     Bubblegum flavour, nice!

     I'm currently on one kind of antibiotic for periorificial dermatitis. Hoping I can avoid adding in another one for the ears.

     @lookitmychicken oh no. Hope it's over soon. My 5yo niece is on bubblegum flavored amoxicillin for one right now. Her mama listed that when I asked what Diwali treats they had. :ablobcateyesflip:
