executive summary: rms encourages contributors to the gnu project to make gnu better for its users, taking a long-term view over immediate shortcuts that would make gnu dependent on software designed to displace it, and that somehow makes him a bad leader for the project?!?
@dthompson agree with much of this. Though the whole idea that the "Free Software movement has failed" is pretty obserd. There is more Free Software used now than at any time in history. (even when some people don't want to count things like the kernel Linux as free software becasue reasons)
@gnu2 yeah I don't agree that the free software movement has failed, either. I think it has stalled in some ways *but* there are important projects pushing it forward like this wonderful ActivityPub powered social network we are using now!
