@marine@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso it doesn’t make sense if you’re not a radfem but tl;dr the radfem community is falling apart because of Israel v Palestine
The “radfem community” is falling apart because it can’t decide if it’s more anti-rape (anti-Muslim) than it is anti-white (anti-Israel, even though jews aren’t really White).
@teratology@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso can I PLEASE have some of whatever crack everyone in this thread is smoking? because I feel like I need it after reading all this
@AnungIkwe@anemone@meso Why are you so angry? It is well known that radical feminism is derived from Marxism. Stop playing. Dialectal materialism is the reason for a gender critical analysis. Are you contradicting what you believe in?
@teratology@anemone@meso Bullshit. You don't know anything about the origins of Radical Feminism and you've obviously never read Engels. Why do you keep talking about things you clearly know NOTHING about? You're not convincing anyone.
@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso tbh the discourse I’ve been seeing in radfem communities has shown the pitfalls of radical feminism without a Marxist analysis
these people literally adopt a Marxist derived movement in name only, and refuse to acknowledge class struggle beyond sex while they paint arab men as rapists
@nemesis@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso@teratology gender critical feminists remind me a lot more of the mainstream feminism of the 80s and 90s than current feminists do, based on my university experience and workload. not specifically on the trans issue just overall. this isn't a value judgment. I don't understand arguments that they're not real feminists because 30 years ago nobody would doubt they were feminists. maybe they're not anymore because they haven't progressed with the times though. feminists have always been karens if you consider issues like pornography and sex work.
@meso@marine@NEETzsche@anemone@teratology Jew are designated as "white" to the BDS cult so they can direct all their irrational hatred towards them without any social stigma.
@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso@teratology@nemesis it was always ever thus, Andrea Dworkin for ex. cooperated with conservative Christian organizations to try to get pornography banned and patriarchy theory of second wave feminism is inextricably sex and gender essentialist, it had to be watered down tremendously to explain why f2m trans is okay.
@teratology@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso@nemesis I agree. I think one of the reasons that gender critical persists is that the arguments for it seem simpler and more intuitive in the frame of second wave feminism. that doesn't in any way mean they are right at all, bad arguments often are more simple and seemingly-intuitive and you need more knowledge to understand why the argument isn't correct, but people don't got time for that so the simpler argument has an advantage
@Moon@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso@nemesis all civil rights movements have always excluded a group for the betterment of the majority like gays and lesbians thinking bisexuals and transgender causes would hurt the fight for gay rights, and in feminism White feminists fought for the right to work when racialized women had been already working, also the exclusion of Lesbians as well
@teratology@AnungIkwe@anemone@meso@nemesis in the 90s someone once told me that feminism got taken over by radical lesbians, they were dismayed because they wanted to be fighting about equal wages and the treatment of women in marriages.
@ciel@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso@nemesis@teratology it was a conflict between people for whom feminism was a luxury belief and people for whom feminism was "my womanhood and struggles are invisible even to white heterosexual feminists"
@Moon@anemone@AnungIkwe@meso@nemesis@teratology thats sort of funny. were political (presumably moderate?? as if being a lesbian is only acceptable if ur doing it as a force of will for some greater cause) lesbians an 80s thing or were they still around by the turn of the decade?
