   @randulo we don't even have any shelters here because the county has "decreed" there are no homeless people at all. Since the county says they don't exist, they have no need to spend money or provide services. Hence, why people during a hurricane sheltered in a parking garage.

   But our new county board has gone even further and decided to immediately close the local libraries. Dangerous things like books and ideas are in them, after all.

     What if politicians had a team go out and ask people sleeping in tents or sleeping rough if they'd like to have a place to sleep under a roof? If shelters were secure, I think 9 out of 10 would rather be sleeping indoors.
