     The only things that appear in your Home timeline are these:

     -Posts from people you follow
     -Posts shared by people you follow
     -Posts containing hashtags you follow

     If there are posts from people you don't follow and you're 100% sure they aren't shared by people you follow, that sounds like they would have to be posts containing hashtags you follow?

     @rwp0 I don't know! Maybe, you've subscribed to a hashtag? Or maybe you are looking not at the home timeline? There are a few separate timelines:

     1. People and hashtags you follow
     2. All posts on the same instance (that's how I found your post)
     3. Popular posts of the day over all instances.
     4. Lists. You can create separate tumelines and add there specific people.

     @rwp0 Also, if someone you follow boosts too much, you can mute busts from them.

     @orsinium Then why on my timeline I see people I do NOT follow? (and who are neither being reposted by those that I follow)
