NiceCrew Bible study #heaventhread Psalms 2
“1. Why are the nations in an uproar And the peoples devising a vain thing? 2. The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers take counsel together Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 3. “Let us tear their fetters apart And cast away their cords from us!” 4. He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. 5. Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying, 6. “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.” 7. “I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8. ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. 9. ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.’” 10. Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; Take warning, O judges of the earth. 11. Worship the Lord with reverence And rejoice with trembling. 12. Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!” (Psalms 2, NASB)

That's why we have to realize that having faith is the #1 determinant for life, and that makes the story of Esau and Jacob make a lot more sense.
World will say Esau deserved the inheritance and to cut him some slack.
God says that Esau hated his inheritance and he doesn't deserve any.
Faith is king above all else, including works, my brothers.

The story David always mystified me.... A man after God's heart after everything he did.... It was a tough one. So many people grievously punished for way less.. Yet HE was the man after God's heart...

No matter what, the Psalms are meant to be beautiful and good and the language of the KJV elevates their beauty, no doubt about that. I'm gonna stick with it for the rest of this study through the Psalms. Thanks again, brother 🙏
“1. Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2. The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, 3. Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. 10. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 11. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.” (Psalms 2, KJV)

Please use KJV my brother, first verse is nations, and the Bible makes it clear it's the unbelivers, not the various nations themselves, as well at the people making up retarded shit, and it's not that they are 'devising' anything - the KJV is easier and better.

Devise-Imagine, Hebrew "yeh-gu" (1897) is only used 3 times and all in the Psalms. KJV translates the same word as "to speak" in Psalms 115, and other translations say "to make a sound." Devise has a modern connotation that shouldn't be read into it there. Knowing nations and heathens of today, something like scheme seems fine but that's me impressing on the Word and not the other way, as it should be.
Heathen-Nation, even the KJV uses nation for the same go-w-yim (1471) word. The promise to Rebeccah from God in Genesis is the same word and KJV translates it as "2 nations" in her womb.
It's speaking towards heathens in context, of course, but at the same time it's clarified later anyway. Also the use of nation, immediately followed by a description of what people, then kings, then rulers are doing against the Lord and people kings and rulers make up a nation. I think the translation as nation doesn't HAVE to be true, but it can be and I see good reason for it to be translated that way.

I neglected the Psalms all my life, never really "got it." Just something I had to read to say I read the whole Bible. The spirit has stirred in me lately and Psalms and Job are some of my favorites now. Just the season I'm in, I guess.
Proverbs is always 🔥

I appreciate that statement... Good way to put it... I definitely resented him as weird as it sounded. I know it is not my place to but I truly struggled with everyone one liking the poetry of an adultering murderer. I am mostly over that feeling but I admit that I struggled to get it.
Do love proverbs though. Could read it over and over on endless loop

He knows what's in our hearts and His ways are a mystery. It's like Aaron and Miriam after they both spoke against Moses for marrying a Cuushite, but only Miriam was stricken with the skin disease and put out for a time. I agree, the grace given to David was sometimes vexing to me.

Beautiful writing but man is it hard to read. SuperLutheran going through it for like 30 hours of content is extremely impressive.
