   @garbados In Lakota there are the wintke, and they are thought of as sacred. But for many indigenous cultures the idea both of gender as a social construct, and that the spirit of the self for some may perceive a gender identity that doesn't happen to agree with the morphology of the body has always been known and accepted.

     i wish i could find the words to describe the immortal tradition. being trans isn’t just gender and hormones. it is the profound ability to choose your own self, the will to expand that choice. even lions exhibit this volition. my self-manifestation emerges from a spirit embedded in life itself.
