Just a heads-up on my employment status.
I'm currently writing a book about ActivityPub, and part of that work is speaking at events put on by my publisher, O'Reilly Media. That's about 100% of my time budget for speaking.
I do 30-minute meetings advising AP implementers for free.
I provide paid consulting on a part-time basis.
I have a full-time job at Open Earth Foundation as director of technology. We make Open Source software to fight climate change. I am unlikely to take other jobs.

I'm also 55 and I have two kids headed to university. So, my risk profile is extremely low, and I am almost definitely unavailable for unfunded startup work.

In terms of other work I do, I spend a significant amount of time and energy working on ActivityPub and related specs.
None of that's paid, which is fine.
Finally, I'm on the board at CoSocial, our Canadian social software co-op, but that's also unpaid.

Just, not everyone knows its not paid. I've had people ask me about my new job at CoSocial, and I'm like, not yet, but someday, maybe.

@KrusekopfD sure. We make a tool called CityCatalyst that lets cities make their first greenhouse gas inventories. That's an accounting of all the CO2 and other gases that a city produces, directly or indirectly. Once they have that inventory, they can start making a plan to reduce emissions, and they can get funding to implement those projects.

@KrusekopfD about 75% of emissions come from cities, but only 10% of cities track their emissions. We want to get more cities moving forward with local mitigation plans.
