    @AndrewGiffordphotography @garry

    Yeah, lists are like mini-timelines, especially now that you can exclude list posts fromy our main timeline.

    If you're following too many accounts, you can use Lists to split your main timeline up into multiple smaller timelines and dip into the one you're interested in whenever you want (sort of like tuning into different stations on a radio).

      @garry Hey Garry, please forgive my ignorance, but I wondered if i could ask; what's the benefit of having Lists - e.g. might one use case be a grouping of people I follow, brought together for a common attribute/interest/theme/etc.? Many thanks!

      @AndrewGiffordphotography I should think that would be the major use case, yes.

      @feditips is an account you might like to follow. It often explains things better than I can.

      Does Mastodon have groups?

      That depends on what you mean. If you mean like forums, then no. But if you mean like G+ Groups, i.e. lists of people you follow, then yes it does. They're called Lists, and you'll find them in the Getting Started tab at the far right of Mastodon's web interface. So, how do you use them? Well, here's the thing…
