DAE feel like the whole "anarchism doesn't mean no rules" trope has done damage to the movement in the past 7 years or so? It's not just that line. There are many, and none of them are wrong. It's just, I feel like the shallow slogans are misinterpreted to mean anarchism as a psuedo state.
I'm not sure what happened. Maybe it was The Coming Insurrection defanging insurrectionary anarchism. Maybe it was the popularity of communalism spiking. Maybe it was mutual aid being held up as revolutionary praxis uninformed by other anarchist pillars like autonomy and solidarity. Maybe it was the rise of Bernie Sanders and the DSA and the new wave of baby anarchists that emerged. Or maybe this was just always the case (Chomsky and Bookchin come to mind).
IDK though, there seems to be a lot of "socdem + inflamatory rhetoric online" anarchism. I think a good example of this is "breadtube".
