I might be tempted to learn #Colemak if doing so would change the layout of every keyboard I ever encounter for the rest of my life.

I was able to easily switch tot #Colemak with my mobile devices, and I even swipe type.
However, when it comes to laptop / desktop keyboards, it's challenging as I already have a strong hand memory for #QWERTY layout.
For some reason, virtual vs physical keyboards are separate. Virtual = Colemak. Physical = QWERTY.
I guess, it's because I unconsciously know that the letters displayed on the physical keyboard are still QWERTY even though I don't look at those.
It's why I'm trying to find a keyboard that is programmable, as far as the key display is concerned.

I can type QWERTY on a virtual keyboard, but have totally forgotten it on physical keyboard.

And with your experience with physical keyboards, I should prepare for it if it leads to forgetting QWERTY. (Like in some jobs or public terminals, where everything is locked.)
But that's inspirational. I need to work on my Colemak!
