   People see Skibidi Toilet as some fucked up thing that explains everything that is wrong with zoomers or something.
   
   But honestly, I think this stuff is no different from than videos made by RubberFruit and DasBooSchitt from 15 years ago.
   
   Personally I am actually kind of proud that Source Engine humor is still a thing that the next generation is going to enjoy.

     @a1ba@suya.place S2FM is lacking a lot of features compared to SFM and especially if you want to use HL2/TF2 assets you are better off using regular old SFM.
     
     S&Box also isn't valid yet because it is in closed alpha not everyone has access to it.

     @a1ba@suya.place I hope S&Box will release soon. To me it looks like it could be a game directly competing with Roblox, except with a lot less predatory business model than Roblox.

     Nobody ever cared that Garry's Mod was broken as fuck back in the day, it adds character. Why does S&Box have to be perfect?

     @kirby@freespeechextremist.com @a1ba@suya.place When companies start getting stakeholders that only care about extracting the maximum possible amount of money from a game it always is so over.
     
     Nowadays I can really only bring myself to enjoy games that are made by small indie developers or are preferably fully community made.

     @Zerglingman@freespeechextremist.com @kirby@freespeechextremist.com @a1ba@suya.place While I haven't played 0ad myself, it is probably a good example of a fully community run game.
     
     Myself I've been playing a lot of Space Station 14 (game engine GPLv3, game assets Expat/MIT) that is another great example.
     
     This game accepts contributions and additions from everyone, meaning there's new and fun exciting updates to the game literally every week and that is really keeping me engaged right now.
     
     Sometimes people add completely new game mechanics and complex systems like the salvage job where you can go out on time based expeditions in procedurally generated dungeons, and other times it's small things like someone really wanting to make tacos so they add a taco food item to the game.
