   I occasionally see this idea that if only we were sufficiently enlightened about sex and gender, people wouldn't need to transition -- and lemme tell you, that's crap, unless we're talking about ascending to become energy beings who can choose our form or something.

   That line is just a way of trying to talk people out of transitioning. And I should know because I used it on myself! And it didn't work. We are who and what we are.

     @gwynnion yeah my theory is that we have like an internal sense of gender that even if we completely removed gender expectations from society it would still be in there in some form and we would know that there is a way we prefer being recognized

     I dunno maybe it's like our DnD alignment or something

     @waitworry @gwynnion I think not all people do and that's why this line of thinking is appealing even to some without any transphobic intent.

     Understanding not everyone's experience of self is the same as one's own is hard for some people. 🤦
