   There is one person I follow on mastodon dot art, that I would hate to lose touch with.

   By contrast, I follow over a hundred accounts on kolektiva dot social, and many of them I rely on for news about radical organizing.

   When I decided to move from my original instance -- because of frustration with bigotry in moderation decisions and a refusal to take process seriously -- social dot coop and kolektiva dot social were my top choices.

   In part, I thought anarchists should spread out a bit.

     The Federation Safety Enhancement Project calls for use of TBS. The TBS privileges mastodon dot art's blocklist. The mastodon dot art blocklist blocks a lot of bad actors, and a lot of good actors.

     In effect, widespread adopt of the FSEP proposal would mean cutting anarchists, among others, out of the Fediverse.

     And any criticism of the FSEP or TBS is immediately described as a racist attack on one person, regardless of the criticism.

     I would prefer to ignore the moderators of mastodon dot art.

     But I've seen people on my home instance suggest we adopt TBS's blocklist, which mastodon dot art has an outsized influence upon. And that list blocks kolektiva dot social, treehouse dot systems, and several other anarchist instances I follow.

     I don't think that proposal will be taken up. However, it represents the threat I'm concerned with.
