     @annika @Edent me too. I would argue that mental load can only be fought effectively if everyone would have the same information in the relationship.

     Mind you, some of our utility providers *refuse* to believe that couples are a thing and will only allow one name on the account.

     @SuperTwaddle That's true, it's important to have clear ownership of tasks, especially when multiple parties are equally able to do the thing.

     @bodo @annika @Edent OTOH, mental load increases for both if work isn't distributed.

     In our case, while there'd be no friction if it were ever requested, there is zero interest in the inefficiency/redundancy of both of us checking the other's tasks.

     If there's interest and info is being withheld, that's one thing but expecting both parties to be paying attention to ALL information on household tasks/bills/repairs/etc? Ooof, too much!
